Smart cities are utilizing intelligent road management to make informed decisions on policies and infrastructure changes that will improve safety.
With support from the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), the Lake County Senior Citizens Association was able to test out new software for the public transit program they offer throughout Lake County.
Officially the AARP awarded a technology development grant to Kevin Chambers, a Portland based programmer, to develop a program for small and rural public transit agencies across the United States. Chambers had worked with Lake County Public Transit in the past and after he was awarded the grant he chose Lake County to be his test site for the new program with others watching to see how it works.
