TRB Webinar: Examining the Effects of NEMT Brokerages on Transportation Coordination

TRB will conduct a webinar on Thursday, October 25, 2018, from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM ET that features research from the Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP)’s Research Report 202: Handbook for Examining the Effects of NEMT Brokerages on Transportation Coordination. The research provides background information about Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) and describes the different models available to states for providing NEMT for Medicaid beneficiaries.

This webinar will provide information to understand what influences state Medicaid agencies to establish separate NEMT brokerages or to include NEMT as part of Medicaid managed care. The webinar will discuss the resulting effects of these trends on the coordination of human services transportation with public transportation. The presenters will identify opportunities and suggest strategies to coordinate these transportation programs to achieve common desired outcomes for providing NEMT.
