Join the Moving Maine Network and MassMobility on April 13 from 10-11:30am for a webinar featuring a healthcare provider, a senior center, and a transit authority that have each developed a different way to provide on-demand mobility. On-demand means that the vehicle comes to the rider without the rider having to reserve in advance. The flexibility and convenience of these services have proven popular with riders. This webinar will highlight three organizations – each representing a different sector – that are all providing on-demand mobility, but through different approaches:
• The Maine Medical Center Cancer Institute will present on how they use Lyft Concierge to purchase rides for eligible patients in Greater Portland (Maine example)
• The Brookline Council on Aging will present on how they subsidize rides through GoGo for older adults without smartphones in a suburb adjacent to Boston (Massachusetts example)
• The Franklin Regional Transit Authority will present on its microtransit pilot that opens up its eligibility-restricted demand-response rides to the general public for same-day reservations in a rural region of Massachusetts (Massachusetts example)
This webinar is jointly organized by the Moving Maine Network and MassMobility as part of a webinar series featuring initiatives from Maine and Massachusetts, as well as mobility management best practices from around the country. All webinars will include Q&A and discussion time, so attendees can learn from each other as well as from the presenters.
