There is a constant stream of information when it comes to health care and transportation. NCMM’s new Resource Center has launched to help make sense of it all.
Access to transportation and the ability to maintain good health are undeniably correlated, especially for those with chronic conditions. The ability to get to medical care can greatly impact not only an individual but also has cascading impacts on our healthcare systems and even our transportation providers. With a growing library of resources available, practitioners must be able to find and use relevant information when they need it. Recognizing this, the National Center for Mobility Management developed our first Resource Center, focusing on the linkages between health and transportation.
The Health and Transportation Resource Center is designed to be a one-stop-shop for information related to mobility and health. The resource center has been divided into three focuses, Health Care Access, Public Health, and Social Determinants of Health. Each focus has been given a dedicated page, with all the information you need to understand the topics at hand and find the resources you are looking for. NCMM has selected a few key resources to highlight at the bottom of each page, and the entire library of resources for the focus is there as well. The resource libraries are updated regularly with new articles to help keep you informed with the latest information.
The world is not a vacuum, meaning the topics of health and mobility are touch by many other aspects of life. The Health and Transportation Resource Center has a multitude of pages that take a deeper dive into a specific topic. The deep-dive pages cover everything from Access to Primary Care to Non-Emergency Medical Transportation to Active Transportation. These deep dive pages offer additional key resources and continually updated resource libraries to help you stay up-to-date on a specialized topic.
Whether you are looking for resources to help grow your understanding of transportation’s role in decreasing health care costs or are looking to share information on the toll vehicle emissions can take on a person’s health, this resource center is designed to hold them all in one place for you. Each page is updated regularly and will have up-to-date information, whether that be news postings or academic articles.
