Affirmed Housing, together with its development partners, has opened The LINK, an 86-unit permanent supportive housing property in downtown San Diego. The community is part of Housing First, the San Diego Housing Commission’s homelessness action plan.
The seven-story building houses studios of approximately 300-400 square feet each. Of the total, 72 units cater to people who have experienced homelessness, while the remainder are reserved to households earning at or below 50 percent of the area’s median income. Amenities include a community room and laundry facilities. Additionally, People Assisting the Homeless provides on-site resident services focusing on physical health, mental health and budgeting.
The property is 1 mile from the city center, adjacent to Interstate 5. The location is easily accessible through public transportation and there are two medical centers within walking distance.
