The City of Chandler, Ariz., now has more transportation options available with the launch of the new microtransit service: Chandler Flex.
Chandler Flex is the city’s on-demand, public transportation service. Residents can request a shared ride when needed using a mobile app or by calling in and get picked up in a branded vehicle.
This affordable, shared-transit option can take passengers anywhere in its service zone. Connect to bus routes in the area or go to the park, library, school or work without needing a car. Students also can ride free to and from school. Chandler Flex also connects riders to several Valley Metro bus routes: 72, 81, 96, 104, 112, 156 and 542.
Chandler Flex offers service Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Rides are free during the promotional period. After that, a single ride will cost $2, extra passengers cost $1, seniors and people with wheelchairs ride for $1 and middle and high school students ride for free with their student ID card. Accessible vehicles are available by request. Passengers can pay for their rides with a debit or credit card.
Residents can download the app to book their first ride.
