The National Center for Mobility Management (NCMM) is gathering information on the role of transportation in addressing social isolation for older adults, which will inform a research paper on the topic. As a part of this research, we plan on describing in detail 3 – 5 “case studies” in the paper to highlight potential and promising program examples or lessons learned. We also hope to compile a list of other program examples in a table format.
We are asking for examples of any programs that are using community transportation to specifically address social isolation among older adults? (Please share the program name, location, contact person, and website, if available).
In addition to case studies, NCMM is looking to gather insights directly from older adults regarding their use and relationship with community transportation services. If you know of programs working directly with older adults or if you are working directly with older adults, we would appreciate it if you please share the below request and survey with them. Feel free to share the below language outlining our request/linking to the survey:The National Center for Mobility Management (NCMM) is gathering information on the role of transportation in addressing social isolation for older adults. As a part of this work, we are looking to gather insights directly from older adults regarding their use and relationship with community transportation services, through a short survey. The survey should take no more than 5 min and will ask you about your use of community transportation along with its impact on your connection to your community.
